Summer Recap

Sarah Gray (49)

Even though today is technically the first day of fall, I’m not quite ready to bust out the sweaters and boots just yet (and especially not with this 90 degree Chicago weather!). Since we still have a few hot weekends left, I thought I would share some photos from the beach and some of our favorite baby/kid friendly things we did this summer in the city.

Some fun things to do with babies/kids in Chicago:

– Walk along the lake front and stop in the sand at Ohio or Oak Street Beach
– Have a beach day at North Ave Beach
– Have a picnic in Olive Park (some of the best views of the city from this park)
Ride bikes up the lakefront trail
– Go to the Green City Farmer’s Market in Lincoln Park (Open May – Oct every Wed and Sat from 7am-1pm)
Lincoln Park Zoo (It’s free!)
Lincoln Park Conservatory
– Walk along the River Walk and get Ice Cream (also super great views of the city)
– Go to Millennium Park check out the Bean
– Hang out at Maggie Daley Park (playground, splash pads, mini golf, climbing wall & more)
Boat ride out on the lake (we always do the Signature Lake and River Tour when people come to visit)
Navy Pier (Ferris wheel, shops, & icecream)
Children’s Museum at Navy Pier
Shedd Aquarium (free admission for IL residents all Sept!)

xo, Sarah
