Fall Stroll

I promise this is the last fall post. This was the most perfect fall day in the city. It’s kind of unfortunate fall only lasted about a week here, and then it was basically winter weather. By far the 2 most used items as a mom in the city are my stroller and diaper bag. We literally never leave the apartment without them. I’ve said this before, but with not having a car in the city, I am obsessed with our Vista stroller. I’m so glad we invested in such a quality stroller and one that is versatile enough to transition from 1 baby to 2.

Fall in the City

Photo-Oct-25,-5-50-02-PM_feature.jpg

Playing catch up with a few of these posts because I just love the images too much. Fall in the city is one of my favorite times. Although there aren’t a ton of trees in the city obviously, I just love walking through a few of the parks we go to and seeing how pretty the leaves look.

Pink Velvet Puffers

Pink_coats_feature

Velvet is for sure one of this year’s biggest trends. I picked this coat up for Kennedy at Baby Gap, and a few days later I was browsing online and saw pretty much an identical coat in my size. Needless to say I couldn’t resist.

Life Update

life_update_feature2

Wow, it’s been a reallyyyy long time since I’ve posted on here and a lot of (really special) things have happened since then! We welcomed our new baby girl Scarlett into the world on Sept 5th. I think the last time I wrote a blog post was probably around the time I found out I was pregnant with her…

Surviving the Chicago Winters

IMG_7107_F

I have a love-hate relationship with the weather in Chicago from Jan-March. It’s so so cold, which makes me not want to ever go outside. Part of me loves being super lazy and enjoying more down time, but after a while I start to get major cabin fever. Below are a few of our tips for staying warm in Chibera.

Matching Leggings

IMG_7065

A little late posting these pictures, but I’ve been trying to get back into the swing of things after the holiday season. Also, Kennedy got her first cold, so we’ve been taking it pretty easy over here. Even though we already took our tree down, we’ll definitely be wearing these leggings all winter long. They are from one of my favorite Etsy shops, Hello Ellie. They have the CUTEST prints and these leggings are super soft! I love that they offer a few different patterns in mommy & me styles (makes it easy to match ;)). Below are some links to the outfit details.¬†Hope everyone had a great New Year!

Christmas Time in the City

IMG_6415

I’m so excited Christmas vacation officially starts today and I wanted to share some photos we took last weekend walking around the city. I love seeing the gorgeous townhomes all decorated¬† for the holidays. All the lights and decorations throughout the city make the Chicago winters semi-tolerable. I can’t wait to spend some quality time with my family and see Kennedy open presents this weekend! Wishing you all a very merry Christmas surrounded by the ones you love most!

Favorite Coat

Sarah-Gray-11-7-17-(133)

I’m really hoping for a white Christmas, but actually haven’t minded the “warmer” weather we’ve had the last few days. This coat is definitely one of my favorites and I wear it year round. It’s super simple, but can also dress-up your look. Unfortunately my coat is out of stock, so I posted some similar options below and shared a matching one for your mini.

O Christmas Tree

IMG_6262

We went and got our Christmas tree on Sunday! Growing up, my family always had real trees, I’ve never had a fake one. It’s a nice family tradition to go pick out a tree every year, and I feel like candles just can’t compare to the smell of a fresh tree. People always ask us where do you even get trees in the city, but there are actually a bunch of parking lots they turn into “tree farms” or there are websites you can get them delivered. Last year we actually got our tree from Whole Foods and this year we went to the lot right by the Hard Rock Cafe on Clark/Ontario. They had a big selection and a variety of sizes. I love the tree we picked out.
Kennedy and I wore our matching beanies again and I can’t get over how cute her little Ugg boots are with the bows in the back. For winters in Chicago, Hunter Boots are a must for me. I remember the 2nd time Russell and I visited Chicago, it was a freezing March weekend and the streets were so slushy that I ruined the winter boots I had on. My feet were totally soaked so we went in Nordstrom and that is when I got my first pair of Hunters. These fleece liners keep your feet so warm and I’ll never walk through the city when it’s snowing out in anything else. Below are our outfit details and link.

Cozy in Camel

Sarah-Gray-11-7-17-(59)

TGIF and happy December! I’m super excited to do so many holiday traditions with Kennedy this month. I actually bought Kennedy this coat when I was pregnant with her last fall and I couldn’t wait for her to grow into it (they restocked it for this year here). Below I’m sharing some other matching coat options that are perfect for winter.
